On August 3, 2022, 8 a.m. in Hue city at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, the Provincial Father Joseph Nguyen Ngoc Bich of the Vietnamese Redemptorist Order commenced the 3rd national congress of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
In this Congress, over 6000 members of the Children of Our Lady of Perpetual Help from all over Vietnam gathered at the Temple of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Hue city.
The Redemptorist Fathers and Brothers were responsible for accompanying all the members of The Children of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Association.
The Parish Priest, Fr. Joseph Pham Thanh Binh, Hiep Luc Parish of Xuan Loc Diocese, led all the members of The Children of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Association to travel to Hue city to attend the National Congress and that was a special memory for the Parish Priest with his flock.
Father John Nguyen Ngoc Hai, C.Ss.R., gave a speech with the theme: “Traveling on the Road to Proclaim the Gospel with his mother”. Father John’s presentation helped the members to be aware of collaborating with God through His Mother. Mary, Mother of Perpetual Help brings God to everyone in Her way of life.
At 10 a.m., Archbishop Joseph Nguyen Chi Linh of Hue Diocese presided the Eucharistic celebration.
In the homily, Archbishop Joseph indicated to the members of the Association that he wished that more people would join the Society of Children of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, to become soldiers on the road to expand the Kingdom of God with the loving heart of Our Lady.
In addition, Archbishop Joseph addressed the Redemptorist Fathers and Brothers that: “The success of the Vietnamese Redemptorists is the success of the spirit of synergy, which has made great contributions to the Vietnamese Church.
On August 4, 2022, at 8 a.m. at Lavang sanctuary, Provincial Father Joseph Nguyen Ngoc Bich con-celebrated with Archbishop Joseph at the closing liturgical celebration of the 3rd National Congress of Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
In the homily, Father Joseph indicated to the members of the Society of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, that: “ if we want to convert or change someone, we must first be the one with God. Mary is a model that shows us what it is like to have God with us. We are Her children, let’s imitate her, so that we can easily set out to bring God to others”.
The closing of the holy Mass ended with all the children gathered around the statue of Our Lady and offered themselves in prayer with all the joys and sorrows in life, begging Her always be with us and guide us, Our Lady of Perpetual Help.
Thank God for the wonderful mission He has done in Mary, Our Mother of Perpetual Help.
